What is Physical Therapy?

Physical therapists (also referred to as PTs) are healthcare professionals specializing in the care and treatment of individuals of all ages with minor to severe injuries, such as sports or work-related injuries, or medical conditions and disease that affects or limits patient mobility and daily activities. Physical therapists will utilize a variety of treatments and physical exercises to rehabilitate patients or help prevent further injury.

Knowing when to seek the care of a physical therapist is imperative to preventative and rehabilitative care for patients. Too often, individuals delay seeking treatment until the pain or injury has become unbearable, many times resulting in the need for surgery, or causing irreparable permanent damage, or a long-term disability.

No prescription? That is not a problem at Montoya Physical Therapy and Wellness!

Under the California Direct Access Bill, you may be eligible to receive physical therapy services without a prescription for 45 calendar days, or 12 visits depending on your insurance provider.

Montoya Physical Therapy and Wellness is your Movement and Mobility specialist.

Why Montoya Physical Therapy?

Montoya Physical Therapy was founded in 2017 by Rick and Kelly Montoya, who are both Doctors of Physical Therapy. MPTW was created on the principle that our delivery method of therapy will be hands-on and in a personalized manner. Together with our patients, we will work together to achieve our patients’ and their doctor’s goals.

Our comprehensive approach of treatment is addressing relief of pain, promoting healing and preventing future injury, with the addition of patient education in physical therapy techniques, and rehabilitation…
